On December 3, Interface News learned from CNOOC that its Weizhou 11-4 oil field adjustment and surrounding area development project has been put into operation. The project is located in the Beibu Gulf basin of the South China Sea. The average water depth is about 43 meters. It mainly relies on the development of existing facilities in the Weizhou Oilfield Group. A new unmanned wellhead platform and a central processing platform were built, and connected to the existing platform facilities via a pier. The project plans to put into operation 35 development wells, including 28 production wells and 7 water injection wells. Peak production of about 16,900 barrels of oil equivalent per day is expected to be achieved in 2026. The nature of the oil is light crude oil. The project uses a collaborative development model of “three offshore treatment centers plus one land terminal” to build a collection and transportation hub to provide a strong guarantee for regional production capacity release and energy supply. CNOOC owns 100% of the project and acts as the operator.
