Deadly airbags cause tragedy Stellantis (STLA.US) urgently recalls tens of thousands of problematic cars

The Zhitong Finance App learned that a week after a woman in Reims, France, unfortunately died due to an airbag failure in the 2014 Citroen C3, a Stellantis (STLA.US) spokesperson said on Thursday that 82,000 Citroen C3 and DS3 models equipped with TAKATA (TAKATA) problem airbags in France have been requested to stop on the road.

The spokesperson pointed out that the “no driving” recall covers all C3 and DS3 models produced between 2014 and 2019. Up to now, 481,000 of the 690,000 affected vehicles in France have completed airbag repairs.

After the accident occurred on June 11, the French Ministry of Transport ordered all Citroen C3 and DS3 models involved in the Takata airbag recall to be prohibited from entering the road.
