The Zhitong Finance App learned that Microsoft (MSFT.US) announced on Tuesday that it has reached a multi-year cooperation agreement with Ultrafine Semiconductor (AMD.US). The two sides will carry out in-depth technical collaboration on the tech giant's next-generation Xbox console and other devices.

Microsoft said in a statement that this cooperation will cover “joint research and development of silicon chips combined across devices,” and the next generation of Xbox consoles is clearly on the list. Xbox President Sarah Bond (Sarah Bond) also emphasized that the next-generation Xbox platform will focus on multi-device linkage and will no longer be limited to the gaming ecosystem of its own stores.

“We're committed to building a gaming platform that always accompanies users, so players can play their favorite games on any device—creating an Xbox experience that's not tied to a single store or device.” Bond said in a one-minute YouTube video and added that the new platform will maintain compatibility with the existing Xbox game library. However, she did not mention the release date of the next console, but only revealed that “the next generation of Xbox is taking shape. This is just the beginning, and we can't wait to show future plans.”
