The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on June 15, local time, that at Turkey's initiative, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Feidan spoke on the phone on the same day. The foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged views on the worsening situation in the Middle East caused by Israel's military actions against Iran. The foreign ministers of the two countries agreed that military action should be stopped immediately to prevent the escalation of violence and avoid serious consequences that are difficult to predict for the entire region. The Turkish side appreciates Russia's continued willingness to mediate, promote the establishment of a sustainable negotiation process, and promote the search for solutions acceptable to all parties on existing contentious issues, including Iran's nuclear program.
