According to the Goldman Sachs report, South Korea's new government appears to be more focused on growth than many investors expected. Goldman Sachs cited the Lee Jae-myung administration's supportive fiscal policies and large-scale investments in strategic industries, including artificial intelligence and defense. Goldman Sachs said that the Common Democratic Party's majority in the National Assembly has also increased the possibility of carrying out capital market reforms. These reforms are aimed at improving corporate governance and reducing the risk of “Korea discount” where Korean companies' valuations are lower than those of their international peers for a long time. Goldman Sachs raised the Korean stock market rating to “gain weight” and raised the target point of the benchmark Korea Composite Index from 2,900 points to 3,100 points.
