France's Ministry of Labor, Health, Solidarity and Family Affairs issued a press release on the 30th saying that from July 1 this year, the country will ban smoking in various outdoor public places with the aim of protecting young people and achieving the goal of a “smoke-free generation.” The French government stipulates that from July 1 this year, smoking will be prohibited at the following venues during business or opening hours: parks and public gardens; beaches where you can swim; bus shelters and covered passenger waiting areas; close to schools and other places to receive, train, or stay for minors; and open spaces and surrounding areas of libraries, swimming pools, stadiums, and sports facilities. In addition, the government has also taken other measures, including reducing the amount of nicotine allowed in tobacco and e-cigarette products to reduce addiction at the source; starting 2026, e-cigarette flavors will be strictly restricted to reduce appeal to young people.
