Mexico is expected to officially begin a planned review of the trilateral trade agreement with the US and Canada in the early fourth quarter of this year, Mexican Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Tuesday. The US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement was negotiated during US President Trump's first term. It replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement in 2020 and required the three countries to conduct a joint review after 6 years. Ebrard previously said he expects the review to begin in the second half of this year, earlier than originally planned. Trump has been pushing for an early renegotiation of the agreement and is demanding better terms of trade with all of his business partners.
