Air China (00753): Passenger capacity investment (based on available seat kilometers) increased 5.3% year-on-year in April

According to the Zhitong Finance App, Air China (00753) announced that in April 2025, Air China (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) and its subsidiaries (hereinafter referred to as the “Group”) consolidated passenger turnover (in terms of passenger kilometers revenue) increased year-on-year. Passenger capacity investment (based on available seat kilometers) increased 5.3% year over year, and passenger turnover increased 8.6% year over year. Among them, domestic passenger capacity investment increased 1.2% year on year, passenger turnover increased 6.5% year on year; international passenger capacity investment increased 17.2% year on year, passenger turnover increased 15.6% year on year; regional passenger capacity investment decreased 2.8% year on year, and passenger turnover decreased 2.0% year on year. The average occupancy rate was 81.3%, an increase of 2.5 percentage points over the previous year. Among them, domestic routes increased 4.2 percentage points year over year, international routes decreased 1.0 percentage point year over year, and regional routes increased 0.6 percentage points year over year.

On the freight side, freight capacity investment (in terms of usable freight tonnes and kilometers) increased 8.7% year on year, and cargo and mail turnover (in terms of freight tonnes and kilometers of revenue) increased 10.3% year on year. The freight rate was 38.7%, an increase of 0.6 percentage points over the previous year.

Starting April 2, 2025, the company added a new Chongqing-Kashi route (four flights per week). Starting April 27, 2025, the company added a new route between Beijing and Irkutsk (three flights per week).

In April 2025, the Group introduced a total of 1 C909 aircraft and withdrew 1 business jet. As of the end of April 2025, the Group operated a total of 934 aircraft, including 411 owned aircraft, 228 leased, and 295 leased.
