On April 29, the Lingang New Area Management Committee and SAIC Motor Group held a signing ceremony around the “Shangjie” project, marking the official settlement of the “Shangjie” vehicle production and battery support project in the Lingang New Area. On site, the Lingang New Area Management Committee signed the “Shangjie High-end Intelligent New Energy Vehicle Production Base Project” investment agreement with SAIC Motor Group, SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Branch, and Lingang Industrial Zone Corporation; the Lingang New Area Management Committee signed the “Power Battery System and Component Production Project” investment agreement with SAIC Era and Lingang Fengxian Company. Shangjie's first model will be launched in the fall of 2025.
