Visteon Corp. (NASDAQ:VC) and Qualcomm Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) revealed a vehicle cockpit platform Thursday, marking an advancement in smart automotive technology.
The collaboration brings together Visteon's custom-built AI system with Qualcomm's high-performance semiconductor solutions to transform how drivers and passengers interact with vehicle systems.
The new cockpit platform is powered by Visteon's in-house developed AI system, cognitoAI, and Qualcomm's Snapdragon Cockpit Elite Platform.
The companies plan to create a unified system that combines voice control, visual data, and vehicle sensors for a more intuitive and engaging driving experience.

The system uses a hybrid AI setup to analyze inputs like driver commands and surroundings in real-time. Running on Qualcomm's AI Engine Direct, it processes data locally for faster performance and improved privacy without depending on the cloud.
"This technology collaboration marks a pivotal moment in automotive technology, where AI-driven insights will transform the way drivers and passengers interact with their vehicles. We are excited to work with Qualcomm Technologies and lead the charge towards creating a truly intelligent cockpit experience," said President and CEO of Visteon, Sachin Lawande.
The Snapdragon Cockpit Elite Platform includes the Oryon CPU, Adreno GPU, and Hexagon NPU, delivering high-quality visuals, fast AI performance, and gaming support while meeting strict automotive safety requirements.
Visteon's cognitoAI adjusts to driver behavior and vehicle status, supporting intelligent decision-making directly within the car.
It handles a wide range of functions, from suggesting infotainment options to operating digital dashboards and passenger display systems, all without relying on cloud connectivity.
By embedding AI locally, the system reduces latency and enhances security, paving the way for future software-defined vehicles that can evolve over time.
Price Action: VC shares closed higher by 4.63% on Thursday. QCOM gained 4.81%.
