During the Qingming holiday season, the coast of Fujian will experience a peak in water travel. According to the Fujian Maritime Administration, 163 passenger ferries will be put into operation along the coast of Fujian during the three days of the holiday, which will send 338,000 passengers. Among them, 15 passenger ships will be put into operation on the 4 cross-strait “Xiaosantong” passenger routes, including Xiajin, Quanjin, Liangma, and Huangma. It is expected to launch 102 flights and send about 15,800 passengers, an increase of over 48% over the previous year. The Fujian Maritime Administration has strengthened meteorological monitoring and early warning, and strictly implemented fog prevention and high wind ban and navigation restrictions in the Pingtan and Putian regions with high offshore wind power. Ensuring that islanders return to their hometowns to sacrifice is the focus of supervision, and investigations of hidden hazards have been organized and carried out on 55 ferry routes and 79 ferry crossings. Seven high-passenger traffic routes, including Gulangyu Island, Meizhou Island, and Minjiang Night Cruise, are supervised, and stationed at the “Qingming Ferry” township ferry to strictly prevent illegal acts such as crew members playing with mobile phones on duty and being overloaded, resistant to wind, and working overtime. At present, the Fujian Maritime Administration has completed the deployment of emergency search and rescue forces along the coast of Fujian. 50 sea cruisers, 2 large professional rescue boats, 99 emergency tugboats, and 34 maritime volunteer teams have stepped forward to ensure that in the event of a maritime danger, it can be dealt with promptly and effectively.
