If you had weighed TOTVS in late October 2025 and decided to sit it out, the past year might now look very different. Investors who held TOTVS over the past year are down 24.7%, including dividends. That result landed even as total revenue and net income rose year on year, while the net margin slipped from 12.2% to 10.7%. If that mix of stronger top line and weaker profitability was already a risk on record, what exactly could you have questioned at the time?

The shares cost R$43.73 at the start of the period, and anyone looking at TOTVS then had to choose which future seemed more plausible.
On the bullish side, one camp thought a Fair Value of R$55, essentially a price implied by optimistic assumptions, was justified if SaaS and cloud kept lifting recurring revenue and if embedded finance from Techfin and Linx cross selling translated into a structural step up in profitability.
More cautious investors leaned toward a Fair Value of R$33, assuming stricter data privacy rules, heavier Brazil exposure, and tougher global software competition would raise compliance costs and pressure long term margins.
The clearest evidence on TOTVS came from its reported figures. Total revenue reached R$1,919.723m in Q2 2026, up from R$1,410.647m a year earlier, while net income rose from R$171.433m to R$204.784m. That backed the optimistic view on continued top line expansion. However, the move in net margin from 12.2% to 10.7% challenged the bullish profitability step change, so the period cut both ways.
The lesson travels easily. When a thesis leans on margin expansion, do not just watch revenue and profit. Track net margin alongside them to see whether scale is actually improving profitability.
TOTVS now trades at R$32, with the selected Narrative judging its Fair Value to sit above that level. That view leans on recurring SaaS, cloud and Techfin products, plus Linx and RD Station, continuing to scale as one connected ecosystem.
Before treating the fall as a chance, not a warning, a buyer today would need to believe recurring software and embedded finance keep expanding profitably while credit costs, churn and post acquisition execution stay contained.
"The main thing that has to go right is that recurring SaaS, cloud and Techfin products, including AI enablers and embedded financial services, keep scaling profitably while credit provisions, churn and integration of Linx and RD Station remain under control."
