Thales Unit Secures $54 Million US Navy Deal for Remote Mine Hunting Modules

The French defense technology company said Monday that options for additional modules could raise the contract's total value to $196.2 million. The system combines sonar, mission-management software, and remotely operated vehicle technology to help Navy personnel locate and classify undersea mines from safe distances.
