Today, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage held a press conference to introduce the relevant situation of the “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan” for archaeological work and lay out a blueprint for the development of archaeological work over the next five years. At the press conference, it was explained that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, 21 major “archaeological China” projects were advanced, 1,284 active archaeological projects were implemented, 31 provinces implemented the “archaeology first, sale later” system, joint archaeology expanded to more than 30 countries and regions, and 65 national archaeological site parks were listed. Archaeology is moving from “niche specialization” to “public sharing”. The “15th Five-Year Plan for Archaeological Work” focuses on five aspects: advancing research on major topics, expanding the international layout, deepening scientific and technological empowerment, strengthening innovation drive, and promoting the transformation of archaeological achievements, making steady progress towards building archaeology with Chinese characteristics, Chinese style, and style.
