From solar panels rising in the desert to wind turbines erected along the coast, Oman is building future-oriented power infrastructure to attract power-intensive industries such as data centers, advanced manufacturing, and green, low-carbon industries. According to Oman's relevant plans, by 2030, the maximum electricity consumption load of the power grid will increase from 9431.9 megawatts in 2026 to 13967.4 megawatts, the share of new energy installed capacity will increase to 45%, and new energy generation will cover the annual increase in electricity demand of about 4%; by 2050, the country will strive to achieve “carbon neutrality.” From resource dependency to environmental friendliness, Oman has taken the initiative, and the energy transition is progressing steadily.
