According to the results announced by Bulgaria's Central Election Commission on the 27th, current President Yotova and former caretaker Prime Minister Andrei Gurov ranked in the top two places in the presidential election vote, but they won less than half of the votes. The two will face off in the second round of voting on November 1. The Commission said that there were about 6.59 million eligible voters in Bulgaria, of which about 1.52 million participated in the presidential election on the 25th. Of the 27 candidates, Yotova received nearly 530,000 votes and Gurov received nearly 490,000 votes. Since the number of voters was less than half of the eligible voters, and no candidate received more than half of the votes, the presidential election will enter the second round of voting.
