South Korean chip companies Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix will release third quarter earnings next week. Strong demand for artificial intelligence memory chips is expected to drive the two companies to achieve rich profits. SK Hynix is scheduled to release its earnings report on Wednesday, and Samsung Electronics will follow suit on Thursday. According to market estimates, the combined operating profit of the two companies is expected to reach about 185 trillion won, driven by higher memory chip prices and continued growth in demand for high-bandwidth memory used in AI accelerators. Samsung Electronics previously estimated revenue of 195 trillion won and operating profit of 107.4 trillion won for the third quarter in earnings forecasts. Investors will keep a close eye on the progress of the two chip makers supplying next-generation HBM4 chips for AI accelerators such as the Nvidia Vera Rubin platform. Driven by high demand for traditional memory chips and high-end HBM products, SK Hynix is also expected to deliver impressive financial results.
