Studsvik entered Q3 2026 earnings with a hot reputation and a cooling share chart, after the stock declined about 11% over the past month and 7% over the past week to close at SEK200.5 on 23 October. The company just reported Q3 revenue of SEK227.4m and net income of SEK0.7m, which translates to basic earnings per share of SEK0.09. That is a thin profit line for a stock trading on a P/E of 62.4x. The one-day price move now has to be weighed against a quarter that puts the valuation premium under sharper scrutiny.

Studsvik gives bulls some real fuel. Group sales rose 10.7% in local currency, ahead of the 6% growth ambition, with Scandpower up 42.3% and DRPS improving both revenue and profitability. The NND frame agreement of SEK3–4b plus the Fukushima inDRUM licensing deal add long dated visibility that fits the nuclear lifecycle partner story. Free cash flow was weak in Q3, yet operating cash flow before working capital was positive, which supports management’s description of a cash generating core business funding future opportunities.
The flip side is earnings quality. Net income fell sharply year on year to SEK0.7m and group margin sat at 3.2%, even as DRPS margins improved. Investments in BlackStarTech, SMR/AMR products and inDRUM, together with working capital outflows, left free cash flow down SEK35.3m in the quarter and SEK107.3m year to date. Studsvik’s growth initiatives and multi decade contracts are attractive on paper, yet the immediate picture still shows thin profitability and lumpy cash conversion that cautious investors will focus on.
After earnings this thin and cash conversion this lumpy, the real question is whether Studsvik has deeper structural issues that the headline numbers mask.
