Hong Kong stock opening | Hang Seng Index opened 0.58% lower, Sci-Net shares generally fell, Alibaba-W (09988) fell 2.03%

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on October 22, the Hang Seng Index opened 0.58% lower to 23,513.79 points; the Hang Seng Technology Index fell 1.15% to 3,949.02 points; the State-owned Enterprises Index fell 0.70% to 7,887.51 points; and the Hang Seng Red Chip Index fell 0.22% to 3,931.03 points.

Technet stocks generally opened lower. The Hang Seng IT Index fell 1.38%, the biggest drop among the 12 Hang Seng Industry Indices. Among the constituent stocks of the Hang Seng Index, Alibaba-W (09988) fell 2.03%, and Hang Seng Technology Index constituent stocks fell third.

Consumer stocks declined in the same direction. The Hang Seng Non-essential Consumption Index fell 1.14%, ranking second among the 12 Hang Seng Industry Indices.

The Ningde Era (03750) continued the weakness of the previous trading day, falling 3.29% at the opening. It was the component stock with the second-largest decline in the Hang Seng Index. The stock closed down more than 11% on the previous trading day. The company disclosed on October 21 that it repurchased about 3.488,600 A shares for about 800 million yuan on the same day. The repurchase price range was 227.51 yuan to 231.38 yuan per share.

On the upward side, artificial intelligence concept stocks opened higher. Tianshu Zhixin (09903) opened up 1.44% and Zhi Spectrum (02513) rose 1.11%, ranking first and second among Hang Seng Technology Index constituent stocks; China Resources Vientiane Life (01209) rose 1.02%, making it the largest increase for Hang Seng Index constituent stocks. Of the 12 Hang Seng Industry Indices, only the Hang Seng Energy Index rose 0.06%, while the remaining 11 recorded declines.

Overnight, the three major US stock indices collectively closed higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.69%, the S&P 500 index rose 0.58%, the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 1.05%; the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 1.97%, and storage concept stocks rose at the same time. However, the Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index fell 2.35%, and most popular Chinese securities fell. Xiaopeng Group fell 5.55% and Alibaba fell 3.87%.

On the previous trading day (October 21), the Hang Seng Index closed down 0.90% to 23,651.87 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 1.26% to 3,994.77 points.
