Looking Beyond Bitcoin? Analysts See Bigger Opportunities in These 5 Altcoins

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) struggles to hold $82,000, and Milk Road analysts say the bigger opportunity now sits in a handful of altcoins rather than the token itself.

Why Bitcoin’s Range Still Looks Bullish to Analysts

Milk Road senior analyst Martin said on the show that Bitcoin likely stays range-bound between $80,000 and $85,000 until macro conditions, especially oil prices and bond yields, stabilize.

Head of research Kyle Reidhead pushed back, arguing Bitcoin remains in a bull market and that any dip toward $74,000 would be a buying opportunity rather than a warning sign.

Both analysts pointed to corporate buyers returning after a quiet stretch.

Strategy (NASDAQ:MSTR) resumed accumulating Bitcoin in September and October after pausing earlier this year, while Strive (NASDAQ:ASST) added roughly 3,000 BTC over the past two weeks through its STRC-style preferred product.

Five Altcoins Drawing Analyst Attention

Reidhead and Martin named specific altcoins they’re watching for the next leg of the cycle:

  • Uniswap (CRYPTO: UNI): Reidhead said he’s waiting for a drop toward $6 to add a large position, pointing to rising trading volume from tokenized stocks as a tailwind for decentralized exchanges
  • Aerodrome (CRYPTO: AERO): held up better than Uniswap during the recent pullback, which Reidhead called unusual and worth watching
  • Aave (CRYPTO: AAVE): Martin called it the backbone of DeFi lending and borrowing, positioning it to benefit as tokenized stock collateral expands
  • Lighter (CRYPTO: LIT): John Gillan said he sold his position but sees it as a stronger long-term product than Hyperliquid due to lower fees and broader distribution plans
  • Chip: Martin flagged this as an emerging protocol building financial markets around GPU and compute assets, an area he called underserved by both traditional finance and crypto so far

Why Tokenized Stocks and Stablecoins Matter for the Next Leg

Martin said Coinbase’s (NASDAQ:COIN) approach to tokenizing equities, where holders get actual beneficial ownership and voting rights rather than a derivative product, gives it a real edge over competitors like Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD).

He expects trading volume on platforms using tokenized shares to grow sharply as more companies get added beyond the current handful.

Gillan raised a separate concern: total stablecoin supply has stayed flat near $303 billion for an entire year, even as crypto adoption keeps growing elsewhere.

Martin pointed to a lack of new incentives as the reason, since stablecoin yields no longer beat US Treasury returns by much, though he said AI agents handling payments could eventually change that.

Reidhead also flagged Figure Technologies as a name worth watching, pointing to a company bringing real-world assets onto blockchain rails and posting strong quarterly growth despite getting almost no coverage.
