The German chemicals company said on Thursday it intends to consolidate polycarbonate production into a single line from four lines and stop local production of the precursor Bisphenol-A, citing that its Antwerp operations have been "increasingly loss-making" since 2022. The remaining polycarbonate line would focus on higher-value specialty grades. No final decision will be taken until the formal consultation process with employee representatives is complete.
