07:13 AM EDT, 10/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Merck KGaA's (MRK.F) phase 2b/3 study reviewing remigromig in patients with diabetic macular edema met its primary endpoint, according to an Oct. 10 release. The Brunello trial found that patients who had the 0.5 milligram and 0.8 milligram dose of remigromig had non-inferiority in mean change from the best-corrected visual acuity baseline, compared with patients who were dosed monthly with 0.5 milligrams of ranibizumab. Additionally, the study found that remigromig was generally well tolerated. However, proliferative diabetic retinopathy-related adverse events were observed to occur more with remigromig, compared with ranibizumab.
