The Ministry of Water Resources, together with the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, formulated and issued the “National List of Important Drinking Water Sources”, which included 859 important centralized drinking water sources in the country into the “List” management. The most important drinking water sources in the country issued this time are based on the distribution of first-level water resources in the Yangtze River region, 369 in the Huanghe district, 80 in the Huaihe district, 60 in the Haihe district, 89 in the Pearl River region, 62 in the Songhua River and Liaohe districts, 3 in the southwest Zhuhe district, and 24 in the northwest Zhuhe district; in terms of water source types, 380 river-type water sources, 324 reservoir-type water sources, 21 lake-type water sources, and 134 groundwater sources.
