U.S. stocks traded higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining over 200 points on Tuesday.
Following the market opening Tuesday, the Dow traded up 0.41% to 51,478.02 while the NASDAQ jumped 0.59% to 27,638.96. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.50% to 7,812.72.

Utilities shares jumped by 2% on Tuesday.
In trading on Tuesday, energy stocks fell by 0.4%.
Top Headline
The U.S. trade deficit rose to $105.6 billion in August from a revised $92.8 billion in the previous month, compared to market estimates of $102.0 billion and recording its largest deficit since March 2025.
U.S. exports rose $4.5 billion to $315.2 billion in August, while imports rose $17.2 billion to a record high of $420.8 billion in August.

In commodity news, oil traded down 2.4% to $87.26 while gold traded up 1% at $4,197.90.
Silver traded up 0.6% to $61.645 on Tuesday, while copper fell 0.3% to $6.6235.

European shares were higher today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 gained 0.4%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 0.6%, London’s FTSE 100 rose 0.2%, Germany’s DAX climbed 0.5%, while France’s CAC 40 rose 0.3%.
Asia Pacific Markets
Asian markets closed higher on Tuesday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 surging 1.05%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gaining 1% and India’s BSE Sensex rising 0.95%.
