Glencore's Agua Rica Project Qualifies for Argentina's Incentive Regime

10:07 AM EDT, 10/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Glencore's (GLEN.L, GLN.JO) Minera Agua Rica - Alumbrera copper, gold, silver, and molybdenum project in Argentina was approved under the government's incentive regime for large investments. The commodity trading and mining company said Friday the clearance comes amid the planned resumption of operations at the Alumbrera ore processing facility, with initial production now expected in the second half of 2027, compared with the prior guidance of the first half of 2028. Argentina's incentive regime grants a fixed 25% income tax rate, withholding income tax relief, and import and export tariff exemptions, among other benefits.
