A federal judge in New York has ruled that “USA Today”, the “Daily Mail” Group, and major publishers can seek compensation of more than 3.2 billion US dollars for damage caused by Google's monopoly on the advertising technology market. A group of about 5,000 publishers can recover about 1.7 billion US dollars from Google; “USA Today” and “The Daily Mail” will be allowed to seek compensation of about 900 million US dollars and 600 million US dollars, respectively. The ruling allows publishers to proceed with a jury trial to determine how Google's actions related to its ADx ad trading platform hurt large publishers. The date of the trial is yet to be determined.
