UK Competition Watchdog Clears E.ON UK-OVO Energy Deal

02:36 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Competition and Markets Authority cleared energy supplier E.ON (EOAN.F) unit E.ON UK's planned takeover of peer OVO Energy Ltd on Thursday, according to a same-day notice. As such, the UK competition watchdog will not refer the deal for a phase 2 probe. The CMA launched an inquiry into the deal in September.
