FedEx Freight Holding Company, Inc. (FDXF), with a market capitalization of approximately $16.9 billion, is a North American less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, the company was spun off from FedEx in 2026 and provides Priority, Economy, Direct and expedited freight services across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and other territories.

Companies valued between $10 billion and $200 billion are generally classified as “large-cap stocks,” and FedEx Freight Holding fits this description, with its market capitalization reflecting its substantial size and established position within the industrials sector. FedEx Freight Holding combines the scale of North America’s largest LTL freight carrier with a broad service network covering 98% of U.S. ZIP codes. Its dual Priority and Economy offerings serve different shipping needs, while real-time tracking, route optimization and data analytics add technology-driven efficiency and customer visibility.

Despite these strengths, FDXF has slipped 28.8% from its 3-month high of $194.27, reached on June 9, 2026. Over the past three months, FDXF stock has plunged 28.6%, a steeper decline than the State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLI), which declined 7.4% during the same period.

FDXF shares have declined 7% over the past five days and 12.1% over the past month, trailing the ETF’s marginal five-day gain and 4.5% decline over the same periods. The shares are also trading below their 50-day moving average, signaling recent weakening momentum.

FedEx Freight Holding’s recent underperformance may have been partly driven by weaker profitability and lower shipment volumes in its latest fiscal results. On June 25, the company reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 results, with revenue rising 4.8% year over year to $2.4 billion. However, operating income plunged 66.9% to $158 million, while adjusted operating income declined 23.9% to $363 million. Average daily shipments also fell 5.9%, with the company citing incremental separation costs, lower shipment volumes, higher wage rates and the comparison with a prior-year facility sale gain as factors affecting results. Following the results, FDXF shares dropped 4.6% in the next trading session.

Within the competitive industrials sector, United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) has outperformed FDXF, with shares gaining 5.2% over the past five days and 10.6% over the past month.

Wall Street analysts remain somewhat bullish on FDXF’s outlook. The stock carries a consensus “Moderate Buy” rating among the 14 analysts covering it. The mean price target of $165.07 implies 45.8% upside from current levels.
