Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Wang Jianhua explained at a press conference on the “Start of the 15th Five-Year Plan” series held by the State Information Office on September 24 that in 2025, the national cultural industry achieved revenue of 20.8 trillion yuan, an average annual increase of 8.4% during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period; 6.52 billion domestic travelers and a total cost of 6.3 trillion yuan, all of which reached a record high; 640,000 commercial performances nationwide, with box office revenue reaching 61.6 billion yuan, an increase of more than 6% over the previous year.
