Tee Lip Teng, president of the Malaysian Biodiesel Association, said that as the world's second-largest producer of palm oil, Malaysia's biodiesel consumption is expected to reach 1.4 million tons this year, up from 1 million tons last year. On the sidelines of a biofuel conference in Bali on Friday, he said that the country is implementing a B10 to B20 blending program in the transportation sector, while the industrial sector is implementing the B7 standard. He said Malaysia needs to upgrade its storage tank facilities to support a higher proportion of biodiesel blending.
