Putin Signs Decree to Temporarily Seize Nestlé Assets in Russia

11:43 PM EDT, 09/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Russia placed Nestlé's (NESN.SW) local assets under temporary administration following a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin and published on the government website on Thursday. The decree said the local assets of the Swiss food and beverage company will be under the temporary management of L.E.V. Management, including 100% of the shares in Nestlé Russia and Nestlé Kuban, the company's two Russian operating subsidiaries. The same decree also placed France's Auchan retail chain under the same administrator. Nestlé did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
