Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) stock moved higher Wednesday as investors returned to AI infrastructure and server-related stocks following a sharp pullback earlier in the week.
Super Micro shares gained nearly 3% Wednesday, while the Technology sector rose 1.0% and the S&P 500 advanced 0.4%.
The stock had fallen more than 7% earlier this week during a broader semiconductor and AI infrastructure selloff as investors reassessed the pace of AI infrastructure spending.
That risk-off move also pressured Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:AVGO), Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), NVIDIA Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA), Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) and Marvell Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL), which fell roughly 3% to 8% on Monday.
Investors are remaining cautious ahead of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision later today.
Significance: Because SMCI carries significant weight in these funds, any significant inflows or outflows for these ETFs will likely force automatic buying or selling of the stock.
SMCI Stock Price Activity: Super Micro Computer shares are trading higher by 3.00% at $36.71 at the time of publication on Wednesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
