On September 13, Hyundai Motor Group said it is developing self-developed autonomous driving technology with Atria AI as the core. Atria AI is an end-to-end artificial intelligence model designed to sense the surrounding environment and make driving decisions. Hyundai said that the target for mass production of Level 2++ vehicles equipped with Atria AI is set for the second half of 2029. At the same time, the group plans to use real road driving data to continuously train and improve its Atria AI, and gradually promote this technology to mass-produced vehicles. The long-term goal is to move towards Level 4 autonomous driving. Additionally, Hyundai is partnering with US chipmaker Nvidia to accelerate the commercial deployment of advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving systems. Hyundai said it plans to introduce Level 2+ autonomous driving technology developed in collaboration with Nvidia in the first mass-produced software-defined vehicle in the first half of 2028; the target for Level 2++ mass-produced vehicles is set for the second half of 2028.
