Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the Angel Oak Mortgage REIT, Inc. (NYSE:AOMR) Lead Independent Director, Wesley Minami, recently bought US$55k worth of stock, for US$8.10 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 8.5%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Treasurer & CFO, Brandon Filson, for US$489k worth of shares, at about US$9.78 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$8.10). So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price. Brandon Filson was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
