UAE Pledges EUR40 Billion Investment in Germany to Support Industrial, Digital Growth

06:30 AM EDT, 09/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The United Arab Emirates committed 40 billion euros in strategic investments in Germany's key growth sectors to bolster the "technological leadership" and industrial competitiveness of the eurozone's largest economy. Part of the investment is aimed at expanding digital infrastructure, which includes building data centers with a capacity of 1 gigawatt, according to a Thursday release. The investment package was announced during the ongoing state visit of UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Germany. On top of the main package, the two countries confirmed that 29 memoranda of understanding and deals worth over 9.36 billion euros were entered into by German and Emirati companies. There are also plans for additional corporate investments and partnerships, including collaborations involving German chemicals company Covestro (1COV.F), German energy group RWE (RWE.F), Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., or Adnoc, and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Co., d/b/a Masdar.
