On September 10, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment of Seychelles signed the “Early Harvest Arrangement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Seychelles on Joint Economic Development Partnership Agreement”. International trade negotiator and Vice Minister Li Chenggang met with the Serbian side and exchanged the text of the early harvest arrangement. The signing of the early harvest arrangement is an important result of implementing the zero tariff measures announced by President Xi Jinping. It is an important step to promote the implementation of the results of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and to jointly build a common destiny between China and Africa in the new era. It will open a new chapter in Sino-Serbian economic and trade cooperation. According to the early harvest arrangement, the Chinese side will implement zero tariffs on 100% taxable products from Serbia, and the Serbian side will also further open up the market to China. In the next step, China will actively promote the signing of economic partnership agreements with other African countries, implement zero-tariff measures for 100% of products in countries that have established diplomatic relations with Africa, help African countries share China's hyperscale market and broad development opportunities, and provide long-term, stable and predictable institutional guarantees for China-Africa trade and investment.
