The Dutch National Institute of Public Health and Environment reported on the 10th that the number of West Nile virus infections in the country has risen to 18 this year, with 3 infected people dying. The report said that in one case of infection, West Nile virus was detected in blood during blood donation, and the rest were diagnosed after symptoms appeared in hospital. The infected were distributed in six provinces, including Utrecht and North Brabant.
