The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement on the 9th saying that in response to the US military's attack on Iranian oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, the Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked 2 US warships and 8 tankers on the same day, and also attacked 10 illegal ships. The US Central Command then posted on social media denying that its naval vessels had been attacked by Iran.
