According to TASS on September 7, Ukraine's Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko submitted his resignation after getting involved in a corruption scandal. Kravchenko wrote on the “Telegraph” social platform: “I have submitted an application to resign as Attorney General.” He said that his decision was political. At the same time, he insisted that he had nothing to do with the new investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Service of Ukraine involving personnel from the Ukrainian Procurator-General's Office. “My position on this allegation remains unchanged,” he said. Kravchenko asked Ukrainian President Zelensky and the Verkhovna Rada to accept his resignation. He has told the media that he is not planning to resign voluntarily, but that he is ready to accept Zelensky's or Verkhovna Rada's proposal to resign. “Ukrainian Pravda” quoted sources as reporting that Zelensky had met with Kravchenko and David Alahamia, chairman of the ruling People's Public Servant Party parliamentary caucus. The meeting should decide whether Kravchenko will remain in office.
