According to an annual joint survey released by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority today, sales of non-exchange-traded investment products in Hong Kong soared 63% year-on-year in 2025, reaching a record high of $9.9 trillion. Growth was driven by record market participation and strong demand for fixed income, currency and commodities related products. The number of participating clients and companies reached record highs, driving strong growth in total transaction volume. The number of clients that completed at least one non-exchange-traded investment product transaction jumped 33% to over 1.6 million, while the number of licensed corporations and registered institutions engaged in the sale of investment products rose 9% to 452. Notably, the number of large companies increased by 27% to 128. Collective investment plans and structured products jointly drive sales to break records. For the first time since 2020, collective investment plans surpassed structured products and became the best-selling product category.
