Some JSE Limited (JSE:JSE) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the COO & CEO and Director of JSE Clear and Strate, Alicia Greenwood, recently sold a substantial R10b worth of stock at a price of R1,561,755 per share. Probably the most concerning element of the whole transaction is that the disposal amounted to 50% of their entire holding.
Notably, that recent sale by Alicia Greenwood is the biggest insider sale of JSE shares that we've seen in the last year. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is R154. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.
