According to the Shaanxi Provincial State-owned Assets Administration Commission, a total of 12,712 square kilometers of compliant airspace and 3,266 kilometers of normalized low-altitude routes have been approved by the Shaanxi Provincial State-owned Assets Administration Commission. This is a new milestone in the layout of Shaanxi's low-altitude economy. Relying on the 6,500-kilometer highway, more than 360 toll gates along the route, and more than 100 pairs of service areas, Shaanxi will follow the overall layout of “one core, three poles, seven corridors +N”: with Xi'an as the core, linking the three growth poles of Yulin, Baoji, and Hanzhong, and relying on seven “five horizontal and two vertical” air tubes to run through the province, transforming the airspace along the highway into standardized and reusable low-altitude corridors. The relevant person in charge of the Shaanxi Traffic Control Group explained that unlike scattered single-point test flights, the core idea of the new airspace integrated transportation system is to use existing highway facilities to set up drone take-off and landing points in service areas, parking areas, and toll gates to share electricity, communications, and monitoring networks, drastically reduce investment in low-altitude infrastructure, and achieve “a road means an airspace, and an airspace has a node.”
