Corn Slipping Lower into the Three-Day Weekend

Corn futures are trading with contracts 2 to 3 cents lower at midday. Pressure is coming from double digit losses in wheat and traders taking money off the table ahead of a three day weekend. There was just 1 delivery for September corn futures overnight. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is down 2 1/4 cents at $4.92 1/2.

The market will be closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday.

USDA Export Sales data from Thursday shows old crop export commitments at 86.93 MMT, which is 24% above the same week last year. That is 101% of the USDA export projection and inline with average. New crop corn export commitments are at 14.443 MMT, which is now 30.9% above the same time last year. That is 17.4% of the current USDA number for 2026/27.

Sep 26 Corn is at $5.12, down 3 1/4 cents,

Nearby Cash is at $4.92 1/4, down 2 1/4 cents,

Dec 26 Corn is at $5.38 1/2, down 2 1/4 cents,

Mar 27 Corn is at $5.53 3/4, down 2 1/4 cents,
