Jiamei Technology (08198) subsidiary plans to purchase several artificial intelligence-related facilities for 34.4 million yuan

Zhitong Finance App News, Jiami Technology (08198) issued an announcement. On September 4, 2026 (after the transaction period), Quantum Thinking (an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company) signed a purchase agreement. According to this, the buyer will purchase the device (that is, several AI-related facilities used for artificial intelligence services) at a cost of RMB 34.4 million (equivalent to about HK$40 million).

As of the date of this announcement, the supplier held 100% of the rights of Mr. Jiang Zhiqiang, and the supplier's agent, Mr. Duan Yulong held 100% of the rights. According to the director's knowledge, knowledge and conviction after making all reasonable inquiries, the supplier, supplier receiving agent, and their ultimate beneficial owners are all independent third parties.

According to the purchase agreement, the buyer (a wholly-owned subsidiary designated by the Company) will purchase the equipment (i.e. artificial intelligence service equipment) from the supplier at a cost of RMB 34.4 million (equivalent to approximately HK$40 million). This device is an artificial intelligence service device to be used in the Group's artificial intelligence data center business.

As part of business development, the Group has been actively exploring different initiatives to expand its revenue streams and participate in industries with high growth potential, and the Group is planning (among others) to expand its existing big data center business into the field of artificial intelligence data centers. The data center business has been one of the Group's main businesses for many years. Through existing operations in this field, the Group has accumulated rich expertise and experience in the construction, operation and maintenance of related infrastructure. With the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, the demand for artificial intelligence-related infrastructure, including AI data centers, has increased significantly. The Group intends to use its existing expertise in big data center operations to focus on the development and leasing of AI-related facilities (such as GPU servers) in AI data centers. The purchase of this equipment is the first step for the Group to expand its AI data center business. It is anticipated that the Group will be able to utilize its experience in supporting critical infrastructure, including the power supply and cooling systems needed to build artificial intelligence facilities. The Company intends to pay the price under the purchase agreement as a portion of the net proceeds from the placement.
