China General Nuclear Power announced that Zhaoyuan Unit 2 of the company's subsidiary Shandong Zhaoyuan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. will pour the first concrete tank of the main nuclear reactor plant on September 5, 2026, and full construction will begin on that day and enter the civil construction phase. The unit uses Hualong No. 1 nuclear power technology, and the single unit has an installed capacity of 1,214 MW.
