There is only one week left until the start of the new NFL season. According to a letter, the league has once again made a request to prediction trading platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi to ban the launch of disputed betting categories that jeopardize the fairness of the tournament. The letter, sent by NFL Chief Compliance Officer Sabrina Perel on Thursday, reads: “A few months ago, we defined a number of disputed betting categories, but to this day, such betting products are still listed in the form of contracts on relevant trading platforms. This situation is highly worrying.” The letter stated that so-called “dispute bets” include bets related to fan safety, bets on player injuries, and bets related to player misconduct. The NFL also requires the platform to restrict some other sporting event contracts, including content mentioned in game broadcasts and the attendance of celebrities. According to the League, this type of bet is easily manipulated by one person.
