Recently, a team of researchers Liu Hongjun from the Transient Optics Laboratory of the Xi'an Institute of Optoelectronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences made important progress in the field of metasurface mid-infrared nonlinear frequency conversion into images. The relevant research results were published in Laser & Photonics Reviews. The study expands the control capabilities of non-local metasurfaces to the field of continuous wave nonlinear frequency conversion. It not only provides a new technical path for miniaturized, low-cost, and high-sensitivity mid-infrared detection technology, but also shows broad application prospects in scenarios such as gas detection, environmental monitoring, biomedical imaging, and integrated photon sensing with the technology's on-chip integration potential.
