The Zhitong Finance App learned that the US insurance company Orion180 Insurance Group has submitted an initial public offering (IPO) application to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and plans to enter the US stock market to further expand its share in the rapidly growing professional homeowner and flood insurance market. According to the documents, the company plans to list on the NASDAQ under the stock code “OIG” and plans to raise up to 100 million US dollars through an IPO. The company has yet to disclose offering pricing terms.
According to reports, Orion180 focuses on providing innovative household property and flood insurance solutions for homeowners and landlords. Its products include standard homeowner insurance, rental property insurance, and customized private flood insurance, and is particularly prominent in high-risk areas of California and southeastern China. As of June 30, 2026, these products were sold through a network of over 14,000 active independent agents.
Orion180 said the company is the second-largest homeowner insurance provider for excess and surplus property (E&S for short) in the US based on direct coverage premiums, and its business covers 14 states. In the past 12 months ending June 30, 2026, the company managed approximately US$601 million in underwriting premiums, and has sold more than 670,000 policies since its inception in 2015. In 2025, 51% of the underwriting premiums managed by the company came from traditional unapproved underwriting products, focusing on coastal areas and geographically high-risk, disaster-prone properties.
According to the data, Orion 180 achieved net profit of 13.5 million US dollars and revenue of 80.1 million US dollars in the first six months of 2026; compared with a net loss of 3 million US dollars and revenue of 50.4 million US dollars in the same period last year.
