Scatec Secures Financing for EUR168 Million Onshore Wind Project in Romania

11:50 PM EDT, 08/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Scatec (SCATC.OL) said Thursday it locked in financing for the 77-megawatt Urleasca onshore wind development in Romania, marking the company's entry into Europe's onshore wind sector. The Oslo-listed renewable energy company expects to spend 168 million euros in total for the project, excluding value-added tax, to be financed using non-recourse project debt and equity. With financing secured, the project will now enter the construction phase. Scatec tapped Stockholm-listed renewable energy developer OX2 (OX2.ST) to manage the construction until commissioning, with commercial operations planned for the second half of 2028.
