UK Cinema Operators Seeking to Prohibit, Restrict Meta Glasses, Other Wearable Tech

10:29 AM EDT, 08/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Cinema Association said many cinema operators are adopting policies to prohibit and/or restrict camera-enabled smart glasses, including those made by Meta Platforms (FB2A.F), along with other wearable technology. In a Thursday statement, the association added that it would continue working with its members to keep their approach "relevant and proportionate." The US technology giant did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
